Fremantle - Port - Passenger Terminal So many migrants stepped through these doors in the 1960's & 1970's. This is the "front door" of the Fremantle Passenger Terminal at Fremantle port. The building was completed in the early 1960's. March 02, 2009 |

Fremantle - Port - Passenger Terminal Fremantle Passenger Terminal. Looking east through the coffee lounge and towards the Function area. This building hasn't changed a bit over the decades. Since the 1970's few passenger ships visit here - hardly worth re-decking the place. It looks and feels distinctly sixties-ish, complete with a rather sad looking wooden ceiling. March 02, 2009 |

Fremantle - "Diamond Princess" Move aside everyone! Here are some tugs guiding into place this passenger ship - the "Diamond Princess". This photo taken from the North Wharf. March 03, 2009 |

Fremantle - "Diamond Princess" Front of the Diamond Princess at Fremantle. This is apparently the largest passenger ship ever to visit Fremantle (to date). Built in the U.S. and registered in Hamilton, Bermuda, this ship displaces 113,000 tonnes (compare P&O Canberra at 45,000 tonnes). This ship has 11 passenger decks, has 900 crew, and a passenger count of 2,670 (assuming 2 people per cabin). Phew - you'd need a GPS to get around on it! March 03, 2009 |

Fremantle - New Maritime Museum Walk right to the west end of the southern berths in the port and you'll come across a rather jazzy though rather soulless new-fangled building which houses the Maritime Museum. That silver is a bit bright next to the water. 2007 |

Fremantle - New Maritime Museum Behind the Maritime Museum is this submarine up there in dry-dock. No doubt it's part of the museum and a tad too big to get it in through the front door. 2007 |

Fremantle - Arriving Ship A ship arrives in the Port of Fremantle. This is the "Livestock Express" - it doesn't look much of a live stock carrier though. The Pilot nipped out and checked out the ship then a couple of tugs escorted it in to its berth. 2007 |

Fremantle - Harbour Well, here we are arriving at Fremantle on our Captain Cook river cruise from Perth. That rather dark looking ship (flying the skull and crossbones) is the Sea Shepherd which goes off into southern waters from time to time to scrap with Japanese whaling boats. October 2010 |

Fremantle - Port Authority The Fremantle Post Authority building has long been a landmark in Fremantle. Here it is. 2007 |

Fremantle - E-Shed Markets The old sheds on the Fremantle wharf has changed a little over the years. The 'E' Shed has been zapped into a popular weekend market with restaurants etc. 2007 |

Fremantle - The "Leeuwin" Sitting low in the water is replica vessel "Leeuwin 2". This a tourist attraction and also a training vessel. 2007 |

|
Fremantle - Motor Museum I ducked my head into this museum to take this photo and am rather glad I did because in 2010 it's no longer there. The Motor Museum was in one of the wharf sheds (the B or C shed). 2007 |
