Guilderton - Moore River What a spectacular place is Guilderton - ideal for a day trip on an extended holiday away from the city. The main feature of this town is its proximity to the Moore River and, as you can see in this picture, how attractive it is. The sand-bar blocks the river flowing into the sea. January 2011 |

Guilderton - Moore River Here we are out on the sand-bar. To the right is the Indian Ocean, and to the left is the Moore River. The river water is salty suggesting seepage under the sand from the ocean. Many little kids where splashing around in the river this day. A safe haven for them. January 2011 |

Guilderton - Pelicans On the north bank of the Moore River, right next to the caravan park, is this sculpture depicting a trio of pelicans. Many real pelicans make the river mouth their home. January 2011 |

Guilderton - Lookout This is the lookout tower from which I took the first and second photos in this series. It overlooks the river mouth. You can drive up there (there is a car park), or take the wooden steps from the beach area below. January 2011 |

Guilderton - Light House A rather sad and solitary lighthouse keeps a watch over dark seas. This coastline has a long history of shipwrecks due to submerged rocks and reefs. January 2011 |
