Henderson

This locality is on Cockburn Sound, south of Fremantle, noted for its ship building industry

North to South Fremantle

South to Coogee

Henderson - Old Power Station

This is what remains of the South Fremantle power station on Robb Road in what is now North Coogee but used to be part of Spearwood, just a little north of the bit of Cockburn South known then and known now as Owen Anchorage. January 2010

Henderson - New Development

This land just south of the old power station is being redeveloped into what look like canal-side style homes. Here is one of the new canals with barren land either side. The current UBD street directory has loads of roads around here (which most exist) but thus far, no buildings. Much of this land has been reclaimed from the sea. January 2010

Henderson - New Development

Another image of the above development. January 2010

Henderson - Ship Building

Here in Henderson is the most impressive boat building "shed" belonging to the Australian Marine Complex, and appears to be a facility for all the local boat builders to use. January 2010

Henderson - Shipyards

Ship building in Henderson. What are those red boats? Fishing vessels? Henderson is just south of Woodman Point and Munster. These days Cockburn Road has been re-aligned to give a Henderson a wide berth, so to speak. This is boat building country and has been for decades, and now also home to Jervoise Bay boat harbour and the Australian Marine Complex. January 2010
