Midland - Town Hall This is a really good photo of the Midland Town Hall. It has always been an iconic building. Situated on the corner of Great Eastern Highway and what used to be Great Northern Highway (now Old Great Northern Highway). The building was established in 1907. June 2008 |

Midland - Railway Institute Here is a rather grand looking Railways Institute building. This was build in 1914 and is adjacent to the Midland Railway Workshops. Up until 1958 the building included a Technical School, its primarily purpose was in training those who would be engaged in engineering and other activities in the Railways Workshops next door. Midland - Council Club Hotel This fine old pub, the Council Club Hotel was built in 1901. You can find it more or less behind the Midland Town Hall on Old Great Northern Highway. January 2012 |

Midland - Railway Workshops Peeking inside the old railway workshops on the south side of Midland station. These workshops were established in 1894 and opened in 1904. Years ago they build steam locomotives here and later diesels. These workshops were finally closed in 1994 and around that time were listed on W.A.'s list of Heritage Places. February 2008 |

Midland - Lotteries Building Now Midland Junction Lotteries House, This used to be the Midland Post Office and was constructed in 1913. In 1997 the building was re-born under its present name thanks to a Lottery West grant and the City of Swan. June 2008 |

Midland - Junction Hotel Here is the Junction Hotel on Great Eastern Highway. Don't know what it's like now but it used to be a handy watering hole. I thought the bottom part of the building is in shadow but in actual fact it's the way the building is painted. June 2008 |

Midland - Jack Sue Shop This shop is pretty typical of some of the run-down buildings that dot Midland. I suppose they provide some uniqueness up this way but hardly tourist fodder! February 2008 |

Midland - Victoria Street Well, it's been two and a half years since any new photos of Midland, so here we are again. This fine building is at the eastern end of Victoria Street. A very old street directory I have suggests this building used to be a Post Office but there is nothing evident on the building to confirm that. These days it is occupied by a firm of Surveyors. Midland - Arts Centre On Great Eastern Highway this is the Midland Arts Centre. It used to be (and maybe it still is) part of T.A.F.E October 2010 |

Midland - Railway Workshops Another look at the old workshops and they really look grand. So much work has been put it to renovate them. I wonder what use they will be put to? |
Midland - Railway Workshops Part of the workshops, this is an old Time Office where presumably workers would clock in and out. In the windows very cleverly, they are made to look like reflections of workers coming and going. October 2010 |

Midland - Railway Workshops One last peek inside the workshops. This view really brings out the fine brickwork of the complex. October 2010 |

Midland - Commercial Tavern Right next to the railway line on Railway Parade is this fine old pub. There used to be another pub just a block east of here called the Stockman Hotel but I didn't see it this day so perhaps it's gone? October 2010 |

Midland - Wilkins Building Slightly east of the Commercial Tavern on Railway Parade, at number 48, is the Wilkins Building. Up on the top of the building it says "Wilkins Building 1904 - Imperial Coffee Palace". This was built on the back of the railways workshops fortunes. At one stage is was the Midland Guest House. Another time the home of three shops. The building is heritage listed. April 2012 |

Midland - Eastern Tavern If you look up half a dozen or so pictures, you'll see the Junction Hotel. Well here is it again but the painting is complete and it's been re-badged as the Eastern Tavern. Before this was called the Junction Tavern it was actually the Freemasons Hotel. Nothing like a name change and bit of paint to re-invent yourself. October 2010 |

Midland - Courthouse Slightly up Great Northern Highway is this brand new(ish) sparkling courthouse. October 2010 |
Midland - House A feature of the Midland area are many tiny little houses such as this. One day Midland will become fashionable and I suppose all these will go in redevelopment. October 2010 |

Midland - Weighbridge On Great Eastern Highway in what was West Midland and is now Woodbridge, is this old weighbridge. It's been a familiar landmark for decades. No longer a weighbridge, the place now functions and a sort of handyman workshop. October 2010 |

Midland - Darling Range Tavern Right up at the east end of Midland, on the corner of Great Eastern Highway and Horace Street is this fine looking old pub, the Darling Range Tavern. Or at least it used to be. It is just the Ranges Inn now. This side is the Bayleaf Indian Restaurant. The pub is around the back. December 2011 |

Midland - Darling Range Tavern And here is the Ranges Inn. This is the eastern side of the old Darling Ranges Tavern. December 2011 |
