Muchea - Garage, Shop and Post Office
This is the local garage - shop - post office which appeared to be a popular stopping off point for locals and some trucks travelling up and down the Brand Highway. July 2011

Muchea - Irrigation Supplies
Right next door to the garage is Muchea Irrigation and Rural Supplies. I always like seeing this kind of business - they are so typical of rural Australian country towns. July 2011

Muchea - Old Well
In front of the garage and adjacent to the highway is this old well. Not used now, but in history this was an important watering stop for horses. It has been nicely preserved and is well-presented. July 2011

Muchea - Old School Site
Not really much to see here, but this is the site of the old school - 1905 to 1952. The sign says that all that remains of the building now is the brick fireplace but as this looks like private property now, I didn't go in to find it. I didn't see another school in town - perhaps the children have to go to Bullsbrook? July 2011

Muchea - Hall
The Muchea Hall is located right next to the sports grounds. Behind here is a rather splendid looking tennis centre which look either new or recently re-furbished. July 2011

This is the side of the hall which overlooks the sports ground. The looks lie a food and drink kiosk which would probably operate on sports days. July 2011

Muchea - House
This is pretty typical of houses in Muchea. More of a cottage really and looking quite charming. These building blocks are huge - plenty of room for a patch of lawn, fruit trees and a vegetable garden - space for the kids to play safely. July 2011

This old 'FJ' 1950's Holden sits outside someone's property. No use in going and knocking at the door asking to buy it though - look at the number plate! July 2011

Muchea - Railway Lines
This is part of the Perth - Geraldton narrow-gauge line. At one stage I'd bet there was a station around here. Now just this crossing maze (open at both sides) and a rusty loop-line. The main line doesn't look as if it much used either. July 2011
