Mumballup - Hotel
The very rustic looking Mumballup (Mumby Pub) Hotel. It looks marvelous. This is set slightly off the highway, on the left, travelling south. The verandah is so typical of these country pubs - it makes them hard to photograph, but it keeps the heat down. This is also a coach stop. February 2011

Mumballup - School Site
Just to the left of the Mumballup Hotel is this block of land. As the sign says, this was the site of the local school in the 1930's. I'm sure I saw another sign proclaiming another school site from a different era up the Collie road a bit. February 2011 |

Mumballup - Highway
Just up from the old school site again, this is the Donnybrook - Boyup Brook Road. You can see exactly how far the town site is from both Donnybrook and Bunbury. February 2011 |

Mumballup - Bibbulmun Track
Here at Mumballup is a section of the Bibbulmun Track (which starts in Kalamunda). This sign, below graceful hills, reminds passers-by of its proximity. It emerges from the bush a few kilometres up the Collie Road and crosses the main road here. Don't the hills look good! February 2011 |

Mumballup - Railway
What on earth is the photo doing in here? Look closely through the greenery though and you'll see a glimpse of what was once the thriving Bunbury to Boyup Brook train line. In many places now, healthy trees have sprung up between the tracks. I think the line was closed about 30 years ago. February 2011 |

Mumballup - Cafe
Just up the Collie Road a couple of hundred metres, and up a little track off to the right is this rather splendid cafe. I stopped here for a bite to eat and I must say it would be hard to find a more pleasant setting or pleasing fare. February 2011 |

Mumballup - Cafe
This is entering the cafe. What impressed me is the huge amount of time and effort and TLC the owners have put into this place, its gleaming cleanliness, its aesthetics and its peaceful ambience. You can also buy Mumballup beauty products inside. Well worth calling in! February 2011 |

Mumballup - Hills
A fine view over this superb hill whilst eating my lunch! This undulating straw-coloured landscape is so typical of this area. Some of the hills are quite steep. February 2011 |

Mumballup - Farm RMB
Most of the farms all over have Road Mail Box services. This place has been a little more decorative with the teapot, the tractor, the barn, and, oh, another letterbox! February 2011 |

Mumballup - Bus Shelter
The farmers at this place have been rather innovative providing a sun or rain shelter with a customised water tank, perhaps children waiting for the school bus to come along. February 2011 |
