Perth City - Arts Precinct

Situated just north of Perth train station, between James and Beaufort Streets

North to Northbridge

South to Wellington Street

Perth - Arts Precinct - Museum

The front of the Museum. The original building was that on the right - the Jubilee Building completed in 1899. The glass-fronted part is an addition which forms the entrance and also provides the link between the original Museum and its expansion into the old Library. June 2008

Perth - Arts Precinct - Museum

Looking from the west, doesn't this building look fine? This was the original library. It's now been annexed by the W.A. Museum. June 2008

Perth - Arts Precinct - Old Tech School

Opposite the new Library on James Street is the old "Tech School". No longer a technical school, I think now it's in some way connected with the arts. June 2008

Perth - Arts Precinct - Arts Building

I think the current purpose of this building is accommodation for Art Gallery administrators. Looks good. June 2008

Perth - Arts Precinct - Arts Building

The same building as above but this time viewing the front on James Street. This fine old building sits adjacent to the water and also the Art Gallery. This is the "back-end" of the building. June 2008

Perth - Arts Precinct - Art Gallery

There is a lake with waterfalls etc just across from the Art gallery entrance. This is looking back across the water to the Art Gallery. June 2008

Perth - Arts Precinct - Art Gallery

The Art Gallery. All over here is a popular place from street vendors, protesters and petitioners, particularly on the weekend. It all adds colour. June 2008
