Piawaning - Main Street

We have arrived at Piawaning. This is a tiny settlement primarily here as a wheat storage and shipment port. This is a view down the main street. Beyond, the road heads across to the Great Northern Highway. October 2011

Piawaning - Road Signs

A group of road signs near one of the wheat bins show where the town is and road distances to the nearest towns. October 2011

Piawaning - General Store

This great looking building is the Piawaning Trading Agency from which you can purchase just about everything. Stores like this are a trademark of life out in the Australia countryside. October 2011

Piawaning - Hall

Even the smallest of settlements in these parts seem to boast their own Hall, and Piawaning is no exception. October 2011

Piawaning - Wheat Bin

A rather forbidding looking wheat bin with both the building and the sky blending with their variations of the colour grey. October 2011

Piawaning - Paddocks

A few kilometers out of town on the Wongan Hills road, farmers bale hay to be stored for summer stock feed for the forthcoming hot and dry months. October 2011

Piawaning - Paddocks

Trees etched on the horizon across the paddocks on an overcast spring day. October 2011
