Toodyay - Church Just look at this fantastic building. It looks like a church but I think it's a private home and actually built as such. It's places like this that make the town! May 2009 |

Toodyay - Emporium On the west side of town, on the main road, is this fabulous Toodyay Emporium. Make sure you stop in this place if you're in the area. It is easy to spend and hour or so (and probably a few dollars) in here - it houses a treasure-trove of yesteryear artifacts and lots of other goodies. May 2009 |

Toodyay - House on Highway Lining the north side of the main road at the west end of town are many cottages such as this. Cute old weatherboard and iron structures with smoking chimneys on a winters day. May 2009 |

Toodyay - Courthouse Toodyay courthouse with its fine brickwork cuts a fine figure. This is off the main road on the north side. May 2009 |

Toodyay - Monastery This is the Franciscan Monastery. Next to this building on the left is a new-ish chapel. To the right are other Monastery buildings. Is this still a Monastery today? I don't know. Some of the buildings look like they need a bit of maintenance. May 2009 |

Toodyay - Post Office Post Offices always look good and Toodyay's is no exception. May 2009 |

|
Toodyay - Train Station The railway station with two standard gauge tracks gleaming in the winter sun. The Avon Link stops here - not sure about the Prospector. Many freight trains pass through here from the East on their way to and from Kewdale. May 2009 |

Toodyay - Victoria Hotel The Victoria Hotel in Toodyay. This Sunday it was very hard to find a parking spot anywhere close by the shops or here. Great to see the town is thriving! May 2009 |

Toodyay - Tavern The Toodyay tavern is on the main street, on the right when approaching from Perth. February 2011 |

|
Toodyay - Freemasons Hotel This is the Freemasons Hotel. A very prominent building in town and a popular stopping spot for weekend bikers. There was 12-15 bikes here about 5 minutes before this picture was taken. February 2011 |

|
Toodyay - Old Hall I don't know anything about this hall and walking around it there seemed nothing to indicate its history or present use, except for its establishment date in 1874. February 2011 |

|
Toodyay - Herald Building I wonder if reporters flock out of here every morning, appropriately waist-coated, fedora's (or were they trilbies?) neatly complete with press tickets in the hat-bands, looking for the scoop of the day? What a lovely looking building. February 2011 |

|
Toodyay - Connors Cottage This is the house built by/for Daniel Connor on Piesse Street, the original owner and operator of Connor's Mill, the flour mill as seen a couple of pictures down. In those days, the mid-late 1800's, Toodyay was known as Newcastle. February 2011 |

|
Toodyay - Ye Olde Lolly Shoppe Right next door to Connors cottage is this historic building now trading as Ye Olde Lolly Stop (there are a few of these around W.A.), and it is also is home to the Toodyay Visitor Information Centre. You can see the back of Connors Mill off to the right. February 2011 |

Toodyay - Connors Mill Connors Mill was built in 1870 by George Hasell, at the behest of ex-convict Daniel Connor, as a flour mill. The mill has been sold and operating methods changed over the years. At one stage it even doubled up as the town's power station for street lights. The mill was renovated and restored to its original condition in 1975 - saved by a couple of local councilors from demolition! February 2011 |

Toodyay - Hills Making a bit of use of the zoom lens here to accentuate the prominence of the fabulous hills that surround Toodyay. Straw coloured now after a long dry summer. February 2011 |

Toodyay - Indian Pacific The Indian Pacific roars through Toodyay on a Sunday afternoon. The train departed Perth Terminal at 12 noon and here it is at 1.15pm. Not bad time, in fact as good or better than travelling the distance by car! February 2011 |
