Dudinin

The locality of Dudinin is on the Rabbit Proof Fence Road, close to Harrismith. It is 273 kms south-east of Perth and is on the Kulin - Wickepin railway. The town was established in 1915 when a railway siding was created here. The place name is of Aboriginal origin. The small town survives today but like other towns in the area, particularly Jitarning, the town never really did develop because it lacked a licensed hotel. An hotel was never constructed here

Dudinin - Store

This is the former store. It is all closed up now and is vacant. This was established in 1915 by Mr Ellis and at that time was known as Ellis Store. The building actually used to be at Wogolin. It was dismantled, transported here and then rebuilt. Over the years, this store has sold just about everything and at one time also housed the town's telephone exchange. April 2015. Dudinin - Butcher Shop

This old store was once the town's meat supplier. It was a butcher's shop between 1925 and 1934. It was then known as Jack Mullan's Butchery. After the butchering business ceased in 1934, the premises housed a green grocer's shop. April 2015. Photos Ref: DUDN005
